Sunset Saunas Beara

Sunset Sauna Beara

Sunset Sauna Beara was born from the love of the sea, we’ve two barrel Saunas on the beautiful Beara Peninsula one of which stays put down in Coornagillagh approx 12km from Kenmare Town and is alight  all year round.

Our other Sauna operates at Ballydonegan Beach in Allihies at the end of the Beara Peninsula from May to October and makes frequent visits to the lovely Tralahan Pier in Castletownbere which overlooks Bere Lighthouse.

Right behind the barrel sauna in Coornagillagh you’ll find Coorna Café — a beautifully converted horsebox serving organic coffee and toasted specials. The perfect way to warm up from the inside out after your session. (café is open at weekends and for group bookings)

The People Behind Sunset Sauna

adam

Adam Donegan

Adam first fell in love with the Beara Peninsula over a decade ago, drawn back time and again to its landscapes and people. After years of regular visits, he made the move permanently in 2021 and now calls Tuosist home. When he’s not at the sauna, you’ll find him cycling the peninsula’s roads, paddleboarding its bays, hiking its mountains, or togging out for Beara United. A well-travelled man, Adam will tell you there’s nowhere quite like Beara — and he has the proof to back it up.

alice

Alice Hughes

Alice grew up at the foot of Gleninchiquin, just a stone’s throw from Coornagillagh Cove — so a love of wild water and open skies was always going to be part of her story. After years of travelling and living abroad, she returned to the peninsula she adores, bringing with her a passion for sea swimming and the restorative ritual of the sauna. No stranger to Beara’s business community — having previously worked with her sister at the beloved Beara Barista food truck in Allihies — Alice is thrilled to be putting down roots and sharing something truly special with visitors and locals alike.
